With the sunrise in my rear-view, I headed up the Quehanna Highway in search of Elk.
Once I reached my destination at Hicks Run, I could not believe my good fortune or my eyes. Over a span of less than 60 minutes, I bore witness to the wildness of Northern Pennsylvania.
6:37 AM EST – 12 Whitetail Deer
6:43 AM EST – 3 Bull Elk
6:57 AM EST – 20 Turkeys
7:01 AM EST – Coyote
7:14 AM EST – Black Bear
I could not have asked for more, nor do I think I’ll ever see such a display again.
